Alright people, this is the official, much-delayed noticed that Any Old Actress is offline, archive only, flatline, dead, deceased, passed on, passed away, and graciously euthanised. Requiescat in pace. ![]()
It’s also become an archive for anything remotely related to “content” that was once found on Villainess.net. To fully satiate your nostalgic curiousity, I’ve provided a blow-by-blow guide to everything that has moved/disappeared/died at Villainess.net. You’ll find that in the extended entry (although, please note that most of this info is out-of-date). It’s taken me two years to archive things to this point, and I’m likely to continue tweaking until the entire site satisfies my compulsion for thorough archival.
And in the meantime, I am exploiting Livejournal for all my personal website and ‘blogging needs.
- Shattered, also known as Tempus Frangit, my writing and philosophy site, has closed. This is partially because Nontense is finished and will be published in zine format shortly. Other writings have been preserved on their own.
If you’re here looking for my article on The Perks of Being a Wallflower you’ll find it has moved also. - Fading Cadence, a button exchange for writing sites has been given up due to time constraints, and is now maintained by Vanessa Nielson
- The Price Comp Project (http://villainess.net/pcp), featuring monthly updates on the best deals on fixed oils for soapers, capsized in part due to technical difficulties and… partially due to (understandably) failed efforts by the involved parties. Mike Tayon has created a similar project though, and the stash of supplier links we created still exist at my personal site.
- “Diabolica Femmina” the webring (http://villainess.net/diabolica) lived here briefly, but ultimately came here to die.
- “Grundy & Co.”, the DIY store with handmade soap, jewelry and zines (http://villainess.net/store) has been absorbed into Villainess. The jewelry is currently/indefinitely unavailable, but zines can be found here.
- Caitlin’s site “Velouria” (http://villainess.net/velouria) has gone the way of the personal domain, skidmarked.org.
- “Deuces Wild Pitty Pat” (http://villainess.net/dwpp) Wendy’s service action to help the Michiana area homeless is no longer operating.
- “Malice,” the Alice fanlisting (http://villainess.net/alice) has acquired a new owner.
- “Dangerous Curves” (http://villainess.net/curves) the directory for web projects has been closed due to a lack of time and interest (on the part of both the owner and the members).
- The “I Love Socks” web ring (http://villainess.net/socks) has also got a new owner.
- “Bah, Humbug,” (http://villainess.net/humbug) the anti-x-mas (and sundry un-holy-days) clique (http://villainess.net/humbug) has been deleted due to lack of space/time/interest. Our manifesto and various graphics are still retained as a weblog entry.
- The “Kiss of Death” award is no longer available (space/time/interest).
- Time & Spirit (http://villainess.net/animus) has been closed, but The DBZ Temperament Sorter it hosted now exists here. Additionally, the pixel people (“adoptable” game/anime sprites) it hosted have been moved to my personal site.
- The “Fun With Fonts” archive has also been merged with my personal site.
- The “B-Movie Clip Art Gallery” has been archived here.
- The “Slipstream”, a Smashing Pumpkins t-shirt archive (http://villainess.net/slipstream), has been retired but still exists at its original Geocities home.
- “Airs of Madness”, the Smashing Pumpkins web ring (http://villainess.net/madness) has been deleted (space/time/interest).
